Después de 53 años casados, Manuel Rodríguez y Elisa Flores siguen viviendo en el lugar donde nacieron, El Rosal, una pequeña población rural de Galicia, en la frontera norte entre España y Portugal. Los dos tienen las manos marcadas por el trabajo y su vejez no consigue hacerles cesar. Juntos, con serenidad y disciplina, construyen a diario una vida cargada de tareas: hacer las camas, cortar leña, quemar los rastrojos de hierba seca, dar un paseo después de comer, alimentar a sus gatos, cargar paladas de tierra, arreglar el remolque de su tractor...
Manuel y Elisa es un documental sobre sus hazañas cotidianas; una historia de amor sin caricias y de convivencia sin palabras.

After 53 years of marriage, Manuel Rodríguez and Elisa Flores are still living where they were born, in El Rosal, a tiny village in Galicia, on the northern border between Spain and Portugal. Their hands are worn by years of labour, yet their old age is not stopping them. Day after day, their calm and disciplined life together is limited to going about their many daily chores: making the beds, cutting firewood, burning the grass cuttings, going for a stroll after lunch, feeding their cats, shovelling spadefuls of earth, mending the trailer of their tractor...
Manuel and Elisa is a documentary about their everyday exploits; a love story about life together without the need for too many words.
